In April of this year I finally got a chance to go to Florida for a week to visit with one of my best friends. Being one of my greatest friends, Tammy indulged the equine artist in me. Off we went to Bushnell, FL, to watch a Ranch Riding Horse Club show. Talk about a breath of fresh air! It's been so long since I've been to a horse show that didn't care how your horse was bred or who you were! Everybody was happy for everyone. It was such an incredibly positive atmosphere. There were all types of horses there from ones that are considered "halter" horses to "hunter under saddle" horses and everything in between. All breeds too. Kids were friendly with other kids and the adults were all laughing and giving friendly advice to each other.
I also got to visit with a long time client and face book friend for the first time in person, Amy Barco. I was so thrilled to meet her and meet her horses. She showed Tammy and I the ropes of the Ranch Horse Riding community. I can't thank her enough. The full gallery for my album for the small part of the show I was able to shoot is linked to this blog article.
Can't wait to go back and also to attend ranch riding shows here in the Pacific Northwest!
