Remembering those that gave all...

There is no greater sacrifice than giving your life to God and Country. So many wars, so many lives lost. Today is Memorial Day, a time to remember those who fought for our freedoms, believed in a cause, defended our country and all that it stands for. Overcoming the hardships caused by leaving their families and the reactions at home upon their return.

I'm so proud to have grown up in a family that has a strong military background. My family has served and is still serving in the Army, Navy, and Marines. My family has fought for our country in the Civil War, Spanish American War, WWI, WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam and is still fighting for the United States of America.

So on this day of celebration, remember to celebrate not only our freedoms that let us have the barbecues and family get aways, but also those who gave us all...

Remember we are the home of the free because of the brave...

I'm comin' home, I've done my time
Now I've got to know what is and isn't mine
If you received my letter telling you I'd soon be free
Then you'll know just what to do
If you still want me, if you still want me

Whoa, tie a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree
It's been three long years, do you still want me?
If I don't see a ribbon round the ole oak tree
I'll stay on the bus, forget about us, put the blame on me
If I don't see a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree

Bus driver, please look for me
'Cause I couldn't bear to see what I might see
I'm really still in prison and my love, she holds the key
A simple yellow ribbon's what I need to set me free
And I wrote and told her please

Whoa, tie a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree
It's been three long years, do you still want me?
If I don't see a ribbon round the ole oak tree
I'll stay on the bus, forget about us, put the blame on me
If I don't see a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree

Now the whole damned bus is cheerin'
And I can't believe I see

A hundred yellow ribbons round the ole oak tree
I'm comin' home

Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree
Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree
Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree
Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree
